A top Chinese space official says China‘s next focus in space will be the construction of a space station and putting a man on the moon.

Wang Zhaoyao, deputy director of the country’s manned space flight program, tells the official Xinhua news agency on Sep. 29th that China hopes to launch a new orbiting vehicle and set up a simple space lab by 2011. After that, Wang says China will focus on docking two vehicles in space and building a manned space station by 2020.

Wang says China also wants to send a manned mission to the moon in the near future.

The three Chinese astronauts who participated in China‘s third space mission and first spacewalk last week were greeted with a warm homecoming celebration on that day in Beijing.

中国一位主要太空官员说，中国在太空的下一个目标将是建造空间站和把人送上月球。

中国载人航天工程副主任王兆耀9月29日对新华社说，中国希望在2011年前发射一个轨道飞行器，然后建造一个简易的太空实验室。此后，中国将把精力集中在两个飞行器在太空的对接和在2020年前建造一个载人空间站。

王兆耀说，中国还希望在不久的将来实现载人登月计划。

三名上星期参加中国第三次载人太空任务和第一次太空行走任务的中国宇航员当天在北京的凯旋庆祝会上受到了热烈欢迎。
